Who would have thought that the Bible could help us with the things we eat? Well, it does.
Today I was putting off running an errand to take care of some business. I knew if I did this one thing, I would in turn have to something that felt a bit more difficult.
I don’t know why I had been worried about doing the even greater task because I had someone lined up to help me. It was silly. What I did though was to stop in the kitchen for a giant blueberry muffin. Normally, I pass over them, or at least, I eat half. This time I ate the whole thing. Then without thinking too much, I ate two chocolate covered thin mints.
The above behavior would have been an issue in the first place because I am in the process of losing weight. In addition, I get a little revved up from too many sweets.
I ended up in bed under the covers hugging a throw pillow after only about 15 minutes passed by. I was dizzy, and sick with pain in my head and stomach. I felt terrible.
As I lay there curled up wishing I didn’t eat that stuff, I thought of a Bible verse I had seen once while leafing through the Bible.
Proverbs 25:16 reads, “Have you found honey? Eat only as much as you need, lest you be filled with it and vomit.” (NKJV).
I got up, cancelled my nail appointment and got back in bed. I then splashed cold water on my face, brushed my teeth and jumped in the shower. Afterwards, I rescheduled my appointment for my nails and went down there. When I got there my nail tech asked me if everything was okay. I said the sun’s not shining today, forgetting the sugan incident. But soon as I sat getting my nails coiffed up, I remembered: Too much sugar is not good for me. And if Jesus says so I know it’s true.
Thank you for reading.
I love you,
